Client:
Scholastic Singapore

Job:

Assessment Writing:

- Prime Mathematics Grade 2

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

First attempt at writing Math assessment content for the publisher. This series of Math resources caters to an overseas market, which requires content to be user-friendly and easy to understand. This project was actually a tad more tedious that normal assessment setting for local market, as the format includes a hints section, for which explicit clues to solving sums had to be written. Nevertheless, it  was still a pretty good experience.

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

Client requested for brief descriptions about each of their recent interior design and fitting commercial projects, providing site photos as reference. While the copy was kept short and concise, descriptions were comprehensive in encompassing highlighted aspects of each project.

The sales script was a brief guide to help staff communicate the company's style and quality of work, including attitudes and belief system, while the company taglines were written around the general impression that the company wishes to project to their clientele.

Scholastic Singapore

Date: January - February 2013

Client:
Scholastic Singapore

Job:

Curriculum Writing:

- Write Better Grade 4
- Grammar Grade 2

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

Was approached this time to fill in activities for the writing series meant for advanced students who want to write better and more creatively. The activities focus on honing students' skills in elaborating or being succinct as necessary, and their ability to use language better.

Upon completion of first project in January, I was offered a choice of two other projects, both of which focussing on improving students' grasp of grammar. As I would be taking a short break over the Lunar New Year, I opted for the one with the tighter deadline. Still feels good knowing I am contributing towards things that really help kids with the English Language.
