The Coffee Connoisseur

Date: March 2006

Client: Sarika Connoisseur Café Pte Ltd

Job:

Copywriting of Corporate Profile (Pitch)

Tagline: We cannot be more serious.

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

The second pitch for a TCC project, which I enjoyed more than the first. Edited bulk of the corporate profile and segregated information in sections. Created the main tagline We cannot be more serious. From this stemmed the ideas that the company is serious about its business, its people, its customers and of course, its coffee. Didn't get to pitch though, as the company dropped this project.

The Coffee Connoisseur

Date: August 2005

Client: Sarika Connoisseur Café Pte Ltd

Job:

Copywriting of Christmas Menu 2005 (Pitch)

Tagline: Add a little pizzazz to your Christmas when you celebrate with tcc.

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

First pitch for TCC. Had to trial-write sample copy for Christmas menu dishes, which could be quite trying if one hadn't tasted them before (especially the vacherin – some intensive gastronomic research had to be done before writing for that). Still, had some fun whetting up appetites with the food descriptions.

InterContinental Hotels Group

Date: December 2004

Client: InterContinental Hotels Group

Agency: Blue

Job: Priority Incentive 2005

Propose new themes for the group's 2005 staff incentive programme

Copyediting of website copy

Copywriting of:
- Announcement email blast
- Post registration welcome email
- Monthly eStatement
- Satisfaction survey email
- Satisfaction survey questions
- Winner announcement email for Quarterly Surprise
- Winner notification email for Quarterly Surprise

Tagline: One Team, One Spirit, Greater Rewards

Why I Wrote What I Wrote:

First and major project contracted from Blue. The taglines and accompanying collateral were for the on-going internal incentive programme for IHG hotel staff; they had needed a new theme for the year.

Initially, I had thought up taglines like Put a smile on someone's face and we'll put one on yours, which showed the Group cared as much for its employees as they should care for their customers. Unfortunately, the graphics had been decided upon (as below) and the client requested for a 'teamwork' feel to the theme. In the end, they chose One team, one spirit, greater rewards. Other items done are as listed.
